People from all over the world enjoy Chinese food, but Chinese medicinal cuisine is special.
This ancient healing art is based on traditional Chinese herbal medicine theory, arguing that each type of food has its own properties such as taste, temperature, and different channels where the food goes - aiming to balance the human nature and the energy in human body so as to promote wellbeing.
Dr. XING Mei (邢枚), Professor in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), will introduce to you a brief history of Chinese medicinal cuisine and general principles of Chinese diet and herbs, as well as its relation to general health and wellbeing. The combination of Chinese culture and Chinese medicine with acupuncture meridian theory will be presented throughout the seminar.
Several herbs that are commonly used for general health benefits which include stress relief and immune boosting food will be discussed during the session.
