A picture of the author and wine specialist Janet Wang

A whirlwind tour of Chinese history, poetry and culture through the unfamiliar story of an ancient drinking culture.

Join us for this intriguing talk jointly hosted by the Online Confucius Institute at The Open University and the Confucius Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine at London South Bank University.

Janet Wang, an internationally acclaimed specialist on Chinese wine and culture, and the principal Chinese speaking member of the prestigious Circle of Wine Writers and Association of Wine Educators, will talk us through how wine has evolved side by side with Chinese civilization itself. It is the bloodline of a people and is intertwined with the land, its history, rituals, customs, literature, and art.
